Glasgow is the third most popular UK destination for overseas visitors, with 312,000 foreign tourists coming to the city last year.
Only London with 15 million and Edinburgh with 771,000 hosted more foreign visitors, and Inverness is also in the Top Five.
The study, conducted by VisitBritain, also placed Glasgow in the top five for all types of trips to the UK, including both recreational and business visits.
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Stuart Patrick said: “Glasgow is already recognised by leading international traveler guides as the ‘coolest city in the UK’ and we expect to see this strong performance in both the leisure and business tourism markets continue”.
