The woman behind the successful £150 million revamp of Glasgow’s St Enoch Centre has won a promotion that puts her in charge of shopping malls across Europe. St Enoch general manager Susan Nicol has been appointed regional director of operations in Europe by Ivanhoe Cambridge, the Glasgow centre’s Canadian owners. She will now be responsible for the firm’s European portfolio with a focus on its flagship property in Madrid. Susan will not be leaving Glasgow though and will keep responsibility for the popular St Enoch Centre. The first phase of St Enoch Centre’s make-over was unveiled last November and saw the arrival of toy store Hamleys. Tesco and Trespass are due to open outlets there in the coming months.
