Finance for Non Financial Managers - Introductory

Do you wish you could improve your grasp of the principles of business finance? Perhaps you need to improve your understanding of budgets and financial statements and the terminology used. This course will help you interpret the numbers so that you understand how to make sound decisions and are able to communicate financial information effectively.

  • Gain an overview of financial and management accounts and the terminology used
  • Learn how to interpret profit and loss, balance sheets and accounting statements
  • Understand the significance of and prepare a cash flow forecast
  • Understand budgeting principles, marginal costing, and break-even analysis
  • Explore specific issues: e.g. Stock /Depreciation /Accruals& Prepayments/ Control Accounts / Bank Reconciliation … other, by request
  • Be able to analyse and compare the financial performance trends of your business or department
  • Improve your ability to communicate financial information

About this workshop
This workshop will involve you in a mixture of interactive exercises and discussion. Our trainers are experts in their topic and deliver courses in a practical, interactive style The maximum number of people on a training course is 12 so that the trainer can accommodate the learning needs of each delegate A two course buffet lunch and unlimited tea and coffee are included in the price

Support available If your business is located in the West of Scotland you may be eligible for a grant of up to 50% of the cost of participating in these courses.

There are a number of places available which are reserved for businesses with less than 250 employees and companies must meet certain eligibility criteria.
