Credit Control

24 August 2010, George House, 36 North Hanover Street, Glasgow G1 2AD

Credit control can make or break a business. Often it is left to chance or to junior employees with little experience or training. Tightening up your procedures will bring rapid and tangible financial benefits. This course tackles these issues and provides practical solutions for you to take away and put into practice at once.
You will learn how to:

  • Fix appropriate credit limits for different types of customer – from individuals, companies and partnerships to franchises and slow payers
  • Establish a system for collecting late payment
  • Draft appropriate warning letters to send to bad debtors
  • Negotiate credit terms
  • Apply successful telephone collection techniques
  • Use a “debt diary”
  • Negotiate face-to-face
  • How to be assertive without appearing to be aggressive
  • Involve your solicitor appropriately
