Project Management including Microsoft Project

Have you have been learning project management skills along the way and not had the chance to reflect? Maybe you have a big project coming up and want to give it your best shot? If so, this course will hone your essential project management skills so you will deliver projects more effectively with the option of using Microsoft Project software to help.
During this course, you will be exploring the following topics:

  • Project management concepts
  • The various stages in project management – from planning to evaluating
  • The role and responsibilities of a good project manager
  • How to identify and manage project objectives
  • The role and responsibilities of a project manager
  • Microsoft Project software – creating Gantt Charts and tracking progress
  • How to create and adjust project calendars, create and amend project tasks
  • How to assign and manage project resources
  • How to analyse and update the project plan
  • Effective management of project costs
  • Monitoring and evaluation of projects using management reports and views

Details

  • Our trainers are experts in their topic and deliver courses in a practical, interactive style
  • The maximum number of people on a training course is 12 so that the trainer can accommodate the learning needs of each delegate
  • Each delegate is provided with a laptop and we use the most up to date technology
  • A two course buffet lunch and unlimited tea and coffee are included in the price

Timing
Courses start at 9.30am and end at 4.30pm with half an hour for lunch

This two day course takes place on 31 August and 1 September 2010.

Is this the right course for me?
Yes, if you are a new or experienced manager who wants to get better at project management and familiarise yourself with Microsoft Project software.  However, we do ask that you are used to using a computer and familiar with the Windows environment.

Level: Introductory

Support available If your business is located in the West of Scotland you may be eligible for a grant of up to 50% of the cost of participating in these courses.

There are a number of places available which are reserved for businesses with less than 250 employees and companies must meet certain eligibility criteria.
