Music legend Rod Stewart is the latest to receive the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre’s (SECC) coveted Champion Award.
Rod received the award after readers of Glasgow’s Evening Times were asked to nominate their most memorable concert at the SECC.
As part of the SECC’s 25th Anniversary Year celebrations, Rod Stewart is one of 25 organisations and individuals being recognised for the positive impact they have had on the business over the years.

Speaking at the presentation Rod said; “Thank you very much for this award. It’s no secret that I love coming to Scotland and we always have a great time here. We look forward to the next 25 years!”
John Sharkey, Chief Executive, SECC comments; “We are delighted to present our 10th Champion Award to Rod and thank the Evening Times readers for their support and selection. Coincidentally, tonight’s performance will be his tenth appearance here over the last two decades.
“Rod is a highly worthy recipient for the award having entertained thousands of fans at the SECC over the last 25 years and much like the Evening Times, has come to be regarded as one of Glasgow’s icons”.
